April Touristas Trip: A day in Amish country

Join us for a fun day exploring the Amish Community in nearby Lancaster County.

Bring your appetite as we will start with a hearty Amish smorgasbord breakfast followed by a 1 hour horse & buggy ride through the countryside with a guided Tour of an Amish family farm where we will explore the barn and have the opportunity to purchase homemade root beer, cookies and lemonade. The next stop will be Kitchen Kettle Village where we can shop independently at a large variety of charming stores and even treat ourselves to some homemade Amish Kettle Corn or Ice Cream. 

In order to keep the cost of this trip down, this will be a self-drive Touristas Trip.  We will meet up at Bird In Hand Family Restaurant at 9:30AM and follow each other to the other destinations.  The drive to the restaurant from Carlisle Barracks takes about 1 hour 10 minutes so please plan accordingly. I highly encourage carpooling. If you are willing to drive others please let me know (email: CBSCTouristas@gmail.com)  and I will create a sign up genius to help coordinate carpooling.  The sign-up genius will be emailed to attendees AFTER they have paid for their spot on the trip.  

Event Cost: $45 per person       Price Includes: Hearty Amish Smorgasbord Breakfast (drinks & gratuity included ), 1 Hour Horse & Buggy Ride through the countryside with a guided Tour of an Amish family farm (driver gratuity included).

Event Timeline:

9:30am                : Meet at Bird In Hand Family Restaurant and Inn

10:45am              :  Depart restaurant for Aaron & Jessica's Buggy Rides (3121A Old Philadelphia Pike, Bird in Hand, PA )

11:00am-12:00  : 1 Hour Buggy Ride and Farm Tour (have cash if you wish to purchase homemade treats at the farm)

12:15 - 2:15pm    : Independent Shopping/Dining at Kitchen Kettle Village ( 3529 Old Philadelphia Pike, Intercourse, PA)

2:20pm                : Depart Kitchen Kettle Village to head home

3:30pm                : Arrival back at the PX Parking Lot for those that carpooled from there

**Once we get to Kitchen Kettle Village you are welcome to stay as long or short as you wish, based on whether you drive on your own or have coordinated ahead of time with your carpool group when you plan to leave**

We MUST have at least 20 paid guests to qualify for the discounted prices of this Tour. If we do not have 20 PAID attendees by 4/18/23 this trip may be cancelled. If it is cancelled, your payments will be refunded.  

We are limited to 38 Guests on the Tour  - so please register and pay early! The payment link will be emailed to you after you register for this event and your spot has been confirmed.  A waitlist WILL be created automatically once we are full so please register and add your name to the waitlist as we may be able to add you starting on 4/19/23.

**Payment is due by 4/18/23**  If we have not received payment by that date, you may be removed from the registration list to allow CBSC members on the Waitlist the opportunity to join.

Registration will officially close on 4/20/23, if we are not sold out beforehand.

**Please understand that we are under contract for these tours, payment will be paid to the companies in advance and unfortunately payment is non-refundable.  If you must cancel, you can sell your spot to another CBSC member, or email me at: CBSCTouristas@gmail.com and I will see if we can pull someone off the waitlist and they can pay you directly as reimbursement.**
