A 5K fundraiser named in recognition of the AWC student body’s “favorite” historian, Thucydides. Registrants will receive a race swag bag, which includes a T-shirt and other 3T5K items. This 5K is considered a fun run; no times will be kept nor will awards be given.
Participants have a choice of 2 T-Shirt colors: Dark Tan (similar to shirt worn under ACU) or Carolina Blue.
All early bird participants will receive their race gear before race day. Participants registering after early bird deadline will receive gear approximately 3 weeks after race. Local participants will be notified of location for race swag pick-up. All non-local participants will receive race swag by mail.
VIRTUAL RACE: Going virtual gives you the freedom to run, walk, swim, row, bike, watch a race on TV; it’s completely up to you how you complete your 5K. While you can complete your 5K at your convenience, we request you post photos to your social media with the hashtag #CBSC3T5K between 17-20 November 2021.
IN-PERSON RACE: In-person participants are limited to running or walking. In-person race is on 20 November 2021 (registration at 0900 and start time of 1000) at AHEC walking trail/MWR golf course. Depending on social distancing restrictions at time of race, participants will either start from one location or we will have staggered starts from multiple locations on the race course. In the event in-person race is cancelled due to Covid restrictions, registrants will be transitioned to virtual race.
MWR is partnering with CBSC to sell food & drinks, as well as have other activities after the in-person race for all participants and the Carlisle Barracks community.
